PEMANFAATAN INSEKTISIDA NABATI UNTUK PENGENDALIAN HAMA PENGGEREK BATANG DAN BUAH PALA >50%

ABSTRAK

Pala merupakan salah satu sumber devisa negara dari sektor nonmigas. Pala digunakan sebagai rempah-rempah, obat tradisional, dan industri makanan. Salah satu kendala dalam budi daya tanaman ini yaitu adanya serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman. Metode penelitian meliputi survai serangan hama penggerek batang di Jawa Barat, bioekologi, dan pengendalian hama penggerek buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Jawa Barat tidak ditemukan adanya serangan hama penggerek batang pala. Hama penggerek buah pala juga tidak merupakan masalah serius. Dari buah busuk ditemukan serangga Carpophilus sp. yang merupakan hama gudang, tetapi sudah mulai menyerang buah di pohon dan kumbang jenis lainnya. Lama hidup serangga dewasa Carpophilus sp. berkisar 1-6 hari atau rata-rata 3,83 hari. Insektisida nabati yang paling efektif mengendalikan hama pala ialah Bioprotektor 5 ml/l. Serangga jenis lain juga ditemukan menyerang tanaman pala, yaitu wereng Membracidae (Hemiptera: Membracidae), kututempurung (Hemiptera: Coccidae), dan kutuputih (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae).

ABSTRACT

Nutmeg is one of foreign exchange sources from non-oil sector. It is used as spices, traditional medicines, and food industry. One of constraints in cultivating this plant is the existence of insect pests’ attack. The method of experiment consisted of survey of stem borer pest attack in West Java, bioecology, and control of fruit borer pest. Results showed that in West Java, there were no stem borer pest attack. Pests of nutmeg fruit borer were not as a serious problem. From rot fruits, insects of Carpophilus sp. were found that known as stored product pest, however, they started to attack fruits in the field and other kind of weevil were also encountered. The duration of Carpophilus sp. adult ranged from 1-6 days or the average of 3,83 days. The most effective of botanical insecticide to control pest of nutmeg was Bioprotektor 5ml/l. Other kind of insects were also found to attack nutmeg plant, namely  membracid hopper (Hemiptera: Membracidae), coccids (Hemiptera: Coccidae), and mealybugs (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae).
