FORMULA JAMU TERNAK BERBASIS TANAMAN OBAT PENINGKAT FERTILITAS SAPI JANTAN

ABSTRAK

Tanaman obat telah diketahui dapat menjadi produk jamu yang bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh (promotif), pencegahan penyakit (preventif), penyembuhan penyakit (kuratif) dan pemulihan kesehatan (paliatif). Peternak di negeri China, sudah lama menggunakan obat tradisional dari bahan tanaman obat sebagi “feed additive”, secara nyata dapat menurunkan pengaruh infeksi dan secara langsung mempengaruhi mekanisme respon immunitas. Pemanfaatan tanaman obat untuk tujuan peningkatan fertilitas pada manusia telah lama dikenal, tetapi belum banyak dilakukan pada ternak. Dalam program nasional swa sembada daging sapi, salah satu programnya dilakukan melalui program inseminasi buatan (IB). Peningkatan produktivitas sapi potong dilakukan melalui IB dengan menggunakan sapi pedaging unggul sebagai pejantan, untuk upaya perbaikan varietas.  Beberapa tanaman obat diantaranya purwoceng, pasakbumi, cabe jawa, lengkuas, temulawak telah menjadi produk aphrosidiaka untuk manusia. Guna meningkatkan keberhasilan IB, maka dilakukan pemanfaatan tanaman aphrosidiaka dalam formula jamu peningkat fertilitas, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas semen sapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan formula produk jamu ternak peningkat fertilitas sapi. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 sub kegiatan, yaitu (sub kegiatan1), Teknik formulasi jamu ternak berbasis tanaman obat peningkat fertilitas sapi, terdiri dari Pembuatan Serbuk untuk Formulasi, Dibuat 2 (dua) formula dalam bentuk serbuk, masing-masing terdiri dari temulawak, temu ireng, lengkuas, sambiloto, pasak bumi, purwoceng, dan cabe jawa. Formula dibuat dengan kombinasi bahan-bahan yaitu temu-temuan sejumlah 50%, dan ditambahkan bahan tanaman obat lain sambiloto dan golongan aprosidiaka 50% dan sehingga mencapai jumlah 100%. Dan kegiatan (2) Uji in vivo feeding trial formula jamu peningkat fertilitas sapi. Kegiatan ini menggunakan RAK dengan 6 ulangan, dengan 4 perlakuan terdiri dari 2 formula Balittro + 1 formula kontrol positif (formula komersial) + 1 formula kontrol negatif. Formula jamu diberikan 3 kali/minggu dengan dosis sesuai bobot badan sapi. Formula kering dilarutkan 100-300 ml air, dan diberikan dengan dosis 10 g/60 kg bobot sapi. Diberikan dengan cara dicekok. Parameter yang diamati meliputi produksi semen, motilitas (aktivitas semen), konsentrasi semen, prosentase semen hidup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telah dihasilkan empat formula serbuk jamu ternak peningkat fertilitas sapi dengan bahan baku terstandar temulawak, temu ireng, lengkuas diperoleh dari Sukabumi, sambiloto dari Sukoharjo, cabe jawa dari Pamekasan, sedang purwoceng dari Cianjur. Hasil uji In vivo Feeding Trial dari dua formula, yaitu 2 formula dengan bahan tanpa fermentasi (Balittro-1 dan Balittro-2) bahwa formula jamu ternak peningkat fertilitas sapi tidak mempengaruhi kinerja pertambahan bobot badan sapi jantan. Pemberian formula jamu berpengaruh meningkatkan produksi semen, konsentrasi semen, motilitas semen, dan jumlah semen hidup. Formula Balittro-1 dan Balittro-2 dapat diunggulkan karena konsisten dalam perbaikan kualitas semen

ABSTRACT

Medicinal crops have been known could become product of worthwhile jamu to increase body stimulator (promotive), prevention of diseases (preventive), healing of diseases (curatif) and as convalescence (faliative). In China, breeder have been used traditional drug from medicinal crop for “feed additive”, manifestly could decreased influence of infection and directly influence mechanism of respon immunity.  Exploiting of medicinal crops for the purpose of improvement of fertility at human being have old recognized, but not yet a lot done at livestock. In national program of self beef sufficiency, one of its program  was done by through artifisual insemination program (IB). Increase  of productivity of beef carcase done by through IB by using cow of pre-eminent carcase as male, to strive improve variety. Some medicinal crops as such as, purwoceng, pasakbumi, long piper, alpine galanga, curcuma of java have come to product aphrosidiaka for the human being. Utilize to improve efficacy IB, hence done by a crop aphrosidiaca exploiting in jamu formula for increasing of cow fertility, so that could improved quality and quantity of cement. The aim of this research were producted jamu formula of livestock for increasing cow fertility. This research were consisted of 2 activities, there were (1) Technique of jamu formularium for livestock base on medicinals crops for increasing cow fertility, consisted activities were powder preparation for formulation and (2) Test of in vivo feeding trial jamu formula for increasing of cow fertility. The first activity was powder raw material preparation, that are produced 2 dry powder formulas. Second activity, test of in vivo feeding trial jamu formula, and the treatments consisted of 2 Balittro formulas + 1 positive control formula (commercial formula) + 1 negative control formula. Jamu were given every day with dose according to cow body wight, dissolved 100-300 ml water/day/tail (10g dry formula each, every 60 kgs cow weight ). The methode used RBD and 6 replications. The parameter were there were motility (cement activity), cement concentration, life-cement presentation. Resulted of the research were indicate that standard raw materials of java curcuma, black curcuma, alpine galanga obtained from Sukabumi, king of bitter from Sukoharjo, long piper from Pamekasan, and purwoceng from Cianjur. Test actvity in vivo feeding trial sawed that jamu formulas could improved the cement quality and quantity. The Formulas Balittro 1-2 expresed good indicacy, there were increased motility (cement activity), cement concentration, life-cement presentation and cement productivity. Acording the concistency of response, the formula were Formula Balittro 1 and Formula Balittro 2 could be recommended as cow fertility.
