PERLAKUAN PULSING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN DAYA SIMPANBENIH SETEK NILAM ≥ 5 HARI

ABSTRAK

Tanaman nilam (Pogostemon cablin. Benth) merupakan salah satu tanaman penghasil minyak atsiri unggulan, tanaman diperbanyak dengan setek dan permintaan setek untuk bahan tanaman keluar daerah cukup tinggi. Setek nilam, merupakan bagian tanaman yang hidup, memerlukan air dan nutrisi untuk mempertahankan kesegarannya. Permintaan dengan jarak tempuh yang cukup jauh cukup beresiko. Idealnya setek nilam ditanam segera setelah penyetekan, oleh karena itu metode untuk memperpanjang umur setek agar tetap segar selama dalam pengiriman sangat diperlukan. Selama ini benih setek nilam setelah panen, minimal 3 hari harus segera ditanam. Perlakuan dan pengepakan untuk mempertahankan kesegaran setek nilam dan masih mempunyai viabilitas tinggi dalam waktu lebih dari 5 hari perlu dicari. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sampai penyimpanan 10 hari, perlakuan pulsing 10 % sukrosa + 20 ppm AGNO3 + 150mg/L asam sitrat) mampu mempertahankan kadar air (kesegaran) yang lebih tinggi, sampai penyimpanan 10 hari, jenis setek batang dengan perlakuan pulsing perendaman dalam air biasa dan perlakuan jenis setek batang dengan perlakuan pulsing 10% sukrosa + 20 ppm AGNO3 + 150 mg/L asam sitrat mampu ,memberikan persentase daya tumbuh yang lebih tinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya, dan sampai penyimpanan 10 hari tinggi tanaman tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan setek pucuk dengan pulsing 10% sukrosa + 20 ppm AGNO3 + 150mg/L asam sitrat.

ABSTRACT

Packaging and pulsing for improvement of patchouly seed cutting storability more than 5 days. Ones of plant producer essential oil is Patchouly. The plant was propagated by cutting and the demand of seed cutting as a seed material is enough high.Cutting is part of living plant,  it is needs water and nutrition for keep their freshability. To delivered cutting in a long distance place have a high risk. Ideally, patchouly cutting was planting soon after cut from mother plant. Development patchouly in another place will needs methods for keeping the cutting always fresh during trasportation for longer time. Ussually, three days after cutting seed still have a good viability and growth well. Packaging and treatment for keeping cutting  longer than 5 days will usefull for send seed cutting in a longer distance place.  Treatment and seed packaging to keep cutting freshability more than 5 days is usefull. Research of seed cutting treatment showed that that up to 10 days of storage, cutting treated with pulsing  in 10% sucrose + 20 ppm AgNO3 + 150mg / L citric acid) was able to maintain the water content (freshness) more higher. Up to 6 days, patchouly cutting seed still fresh and the cutting viability is around 80%. The freshability of stem cutting was predicted more longer than shoot cutting. Stem cutting treated with 10% sukrosa + 20 ppm AGNO3 + 150mg/L citric acid or dipping in water revealed the higher germination percentage compare to other treatment. Ten days after storage,  the highest height of seedling growth is shoot cutting treatment with pulsing on 10% sukrosa + 20 ppm AGNO3 + 150 mg/L citric acid.
